My food philosophy
Food is medicine.
What you ingest is either building health or breaking it down.
I choose to eat foods that help me feel well.
Gluten, dairy and sugar have proven to be energy suckers in my life. They physically deplete me. As I age, sugar has increasingly become a challenge for my body to process.
According to Dr. Anna Cabeca, “Sugar has a big impact on hormones. If you’re eating sugar (whether natural sugars or artificial sweeteners), then your hormones are being affected on a daily basis. Too much sugar is also a strong inducer of inflammation, so it’s a definite no-no for most of us, especially as we get older.”
My meal plans are plant-based, with a side of animal protein, and most of my recipes have vegetarian options.
