People often hide or bury their emotions because they feel pressure from society to appear strong and in control of their feelings. This can cause excess stress which can ultimately lead to disease in the body.

Natalie Gentry is a Denver-based body-centered practitioner and creator of the Return to Self program. She combines shadow coaching, therapeutic massage, breathwork, and conscious movement to help clients connect with their body's wisdom and embrace their shadows. Her approach promotes living authentically with intention and joy!

Welcome to this episode where we embark on a heartfelt exploration of the interconnectedness between our emotions and our bodies in our healing journey. It's easy to overlook the fact that our emotional well-being and physical well-being are closely intertwined, and by delving into this connection, we can unlock a path towards holistic healing.

Natalie openly shares her transformative journey through shadow work, which empowers people to heal both their internal and external selves. Throughout her discussions, she emphasizes that the heaviness and darkness we experience are not solely attributed to objective circumstances, but are heavily influenced by the narratives we construct around them. Furthermore, she illuminates how our resistance to these emotions often perpetuates their intensity. 

As Natalie’s wise instructors used to say, when something occupies the chair of our consciousness, its presence inevitably permeates the entire room. By acknowledging and accepting its existence in the chair, we become more aware of its impact on our current state of being.
